Dietetics

The School of Public Health has been graduating dietitians for 25 years. In addition, the School of Public Health has strong links with the profession and provides extensive practical experience which helps ensure graduates are ready for the workforce. Our students have many interests and most will come through our nutrition program.

About our Dietetics Program

Our course has been accredited by the Dietitians Association of Australia and graduates are eligible for membership as an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD).

Students with a Bachelor of Science (Nutrition) degree study the use of diet to prevent or treat diseases. Dietetics is concerned with the science and art of providing nutritional care for individuals and groups differing widely in economic, social, psychological and physiological conditions.

Upon completion of a Postgraduate Diploma in Dietetics there are a number of study options that students can undertake. Students pursuing studies by higher degree may apply for scholarships. Information about scholarships and closing dates can be found on the Curtin Scholarship website
